The meteoric rise of Bywell Shooting Ground from two-trap backwater to world championship host is one of Northumberland's greatest untold sporting success stories.

Run by the Henry family and the dedicated Bywell team, alongside the 2000-acre arable farm, our venue's reputation has soared during the last decade with beginners and seasoned professionals alike flocking to join us.

When we opened the first two traps in 1980 I don't think anyone imagined Bywell would be where it is now. It was always the plan to expand but everyone's been taken aback by just how popular clay pigeon shooting has become!

Established for 46 years, Bywell boasts a Premier Plus rating, awarded by the sport's governing body, and is recognised as one of the foremost shooting grounds in the country.
Offering everything from tuition for beginners to world class events. Part shooting school and part competition ground, Bywell opens its doors for practice every Wednesday and Saturday with family groups welcome.
We get a huge mix of people coming here from retired couples to talented juniors and everyone in between, We have several internationals affiliated to the club and counting team GB Gold Medallist Bethany Norton as one of our number certainly helps to raise the profile of Bywell.
