Shoot Report - 7th December 2008
Pleanty of Mr Whippy’s (99’s) but only one straight!
Sunday the 7th December was a bright and fresh Sunday morning, which was a perfect day for the Northumberland Single Barrel Championships, 100 DTL and 25 Sport trap which was on offer.
DTL
There was high scores across the board for the DTL, David Bell was the eventual winner with 99/297 also taking AA Class closely followed by the one and only Ted Phillipson with 99/294, fellow squad member Ian Mullarkey could not quite catch Ted only scoring a 98/291! John Shepherd took A Class with 99/293, Dave Magill, Keith Thompson & Gary Peters followed in second with 98/288. M Wolstenholme took B Class with 95/277, John Slater got 2nd with 91/269 and Neil Dickinson got a close 3rd with 91/268. Andrea Swatts was flying the flag for the ladies and took C Class with 96/279, Junior Christopher Dickinson got 2nd with 92/269, A Menhnnet got 3rd with 88/264.
Northumberland Single Barrel Championship
The mighty super Ted (WE Phillipson) shot an very impressive perfect 50 straight to claim high gun & AA Class, however due to the fact he comes from across the water he wasn’t eligible for the much fought after Northumberland Championship, fellow team mate Ian Mullarkey picked this up along with 2nd in AA Class with 49 once again having to settle, with being Ted’s bridesmaid! Bywell’s Richard Henry got 3rd with 48. Bebside’s hit man Gary Harnett and Eric Atkinson took 1st in A Class with 48, Yorkshires Trevor Peel, Alan Routledge & Colin Teago got second with 45. Edward Byerley came 3rd with 43. Tony Common took the title in B Class with 47 followed by John Ashburn with 45 & Jimmy Peel with 44. David Bell put another win to the day’s increasing tally with 1st in C Class with 48, Michael Robson got a very close second with 47 and Dave Walton came 3rd with 44.
Sport Trap
Male Model & part time painter D Blackburn along with Ian Mullarkey & Allan Routledge took high gun with 22. David & Ian also took AA Class followed closely behind by Micheal Wathen with 21, Ashington’s Neil Kendrick got 3rd with 19. Richard Lee & Jimmy Peel took the honours in A Class with 21, meanwhile Allendales Michael Robson came in second with 17 followed by Jim Buckle with 15. A Menhennet took B Class with a straight 20 closely followed by John Ashburn with 19, R Bussey got 3rd with 18. High gun Alan Routledge also took C Class with his impressive 22, followed in by fellow team mate Gary Harnett & Bywell’s John Henry, Colin Teago got 3rd with 18.
That about rounds up today’s report, as you can see there was some impressive shooting with David Bell, Blackie & Teddy’s high scores! The next shoot is on Sunday 21st when there is 100 DTL & 100 All Round which is the Last of the Northumberland Championships. So get all your Christmas shopping done, have the day off to come shooting before Santy comes!
